Front St. Inc. licensed care facilities offer a wide range of residential treatment services geared towards improving the quality of life for adults living with mental illness. Our highly trained residential and clinical staff focus on recovery and whole body wellness through individualized care and attention.

 

Front St. currently operates 6 licensed residential care facilities in and around Santa Cruz County. The facilities are licensed either as an adult residential facility (ARF) or as a residential care facility for the elderly (RCFE). The facilities include:

Drake House, RCFE in the City of Monterey; 

Wheelock Residential Care, ARF in Watsonville; 

Opal Cliff Residential Center, ARF in Capitola;

Front St. Residential Care, ARF in Santa Cruz,

WRC-1, ARF in Ben Lomond; and

WRC-2, RCFE, Ben Lomond.

Each care facility provides care and supervision 24 hours per day, seven days per week and includes a variety of on-site services, ranging from housekeeping and meal service, to assistance with medication administration, physical and nutritional counseling and skills building activities.

At each program, the residential and mental health departments collaborate to provide services in the most streamlined and successful manner. 

rESIDENTIAL SERVICES - ALL 

​With goals of supporting independence and enhancing one's quality of life, the Front St. residential staff (residential counselors) engage in a collaborative process with consumers and the other members of their treatment team. Similar to the MHSS Coordinator, a residential counselor supports clients daily by assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the options and services required to meet the person's identified health and human service needs.

  • Initial assessment and on-going evaluation

  • A fully integrated Wellness program that promotes healthy aging

  • Activity program, including nutrition education, meal planning and house meetings

  • Resident Council and Family Council

  • Assistance with medication administration

  • Food service (3 meals per day plus snacks)

  • Laundry unit on-site

  • Housekeeping

  • Landscaping

  • Full-time on-site Administrator

  • Skill development

  • Support with community integration

  • Transportation services to physician's appointments

  • Stress reduction activities

  • Incontinence care

  • Health condition care assistance

rESIDENTIAL SERVICES - oLDER aDULT

Healthy aging and wellness is a cornerstone of Front St. Inc. programs. For older adults aged 60 and above, residential services include all of the above items and the following:

  • Dementia care

  • Activities and programming focused on older adults

  • On-going monitoring and management of age related medical conditions

  • Connection with local home health agencies when PT/OT is prescribed

  • Building and rooms are accessible to wheelchair, walker, and cane use

  • Elevator access for multi-level housing

  • Nursing staff on-site 7 days per week (Drake House only)

  • Hospice care
